Give Away Time

Howdy friends!  I have been working hard and playing hard!  I am trying to squeeze every precious drop I can out of this summer.

I am currently working on supplemental activities for second grade Journeys reading.  Here is a sneak peak into the first two stories in the second grade Journeys reading series.

I'd love to give away a copy of one of these or any product of your choosing from my TpT store to three lucky followers.  Just enter via Rafflecopter below and I'll pick a winner Sunday night.

New Journey's reading packs in Spanish - What???????

I think I heard crickets chirping when I logged into my blog today.  I really have been busy.  I taught 2 weeks of summer school which ended today.  (picture me doing a happy dance)

I have been working to translate my Journey's reading units into Spanish and the first book is nearly done.  I have had many requests to do this and finally had the time to do it.  (With MUCH help from Melissa Martinez - can't thank her enough!!!) Click on the picture below to check out the first story "What is a Pal?"

I also have some news.  My first grade team will be team teaching next year.  Two teachers will be considered a team. We have 6 teachers in all, so we will have 3 teams.  I am teaching the math and science.  My team teacher will be teaching ELA and social studies.  We will start the day with our home room and then switch and teach each other's home room.  It should be interesting.  We haven't figured out a schedule nor know exactly how this will work but I will be ready to dive in and figure it all out in August.

Hope everyone is having great, restful summer!!!

Busy Week

It has been all kinds of CRAZY in my classroom the past couple of weeks.  We have been watching with wonder the life cycle of our Painted Lady butterflies.

We also started our plant study.

We planted some grass seed and the kids were excited when they started to grow.

We read these books about the parts of plants:

After reading the books, we labeled the parts of a plant and made the flip book that tells what each part of the plant does.

If you want some more plant ideas,

you can check out some of my old posts:

We have 25 days of school left.  We can do this!
