Summer seems to be flying by.  I wish I had a "pause" button.  {sigh}

I've been working the past two days on two more packets for the Journeys reading series.  Here is a preview of both.

You can check them our in my TpT store  Here and Here
in my TN store Here or Here

 I hope you're enjoying every moment of your summer!!!

QR codes

I have been playing for the last hour or so, teaching myself how to use QR codes in the classroom.

I created a code to put on the wall outside my classroom that has all my contact information on it.

Then I created one just for YOU to read.  You will have to have an app to be able to read it. (you can get them for free by the way)

I also created this one with a link to an animated retelling of "Wide Mouthed Frog"  which happens to be one of my all time favorite children's books.  {I think it appeals to my sick sense of humor.}
 (I must admit that the video gets a little irrating after a bit, but first graders would like it.)

I must thank Heidi at Swamp Frog First Graders for getting me excited about this idea!  She has created codes for her students to scan to get math problems. She also has a great tutorial to help get you started.

 I think it would be so cool to use these to attach to books so students could hear the book being read.  They could use ipods in the classroom to scan the code and listen to the book.  I'm sure there are countless ways you could use these in the classroom.

 If you already use these, please share your ideas!

Do you use Journeys Reading Series?

By request, I put together a packet for the first story in the Journeys
reading series.

Here is a preview of what is in the pack:

You can check it out in my TpT and TN stores by clicking on either picture.

If you use Journeys and would like a FREE copy, then leave me a comment telling me how many children I have.  The first person to get it right gets this packet free!  And, if you want to guess more than once, go right ahead.

And by children, I mean my own personal children.

{Jen guessed right and gets the free packet.  I have two boys ages 20 and 12.}
